At United Charitable, we are proud to spotlight Julia Healey, our Chief Executive Officer, whose leadership and dedication to philanthropy truly exemplify our organization’s mission. Julia’s journey into the nonprofit sector is a remarkable blend of academic prowess, strategic vision, and personal commitment, shaping her as a pivotal force in our community.
Julia’s journey into philanthropy began with her parents, who introduced her to the world of giving. While the causes they supported didn’t fully resonate with her, her perspective shifted when she witnessed Philadelphia Eagles football players actively engaging in philanthropy. This experience sparked her own passion for creating meaningful change and set her on a path to impactful leadership.
Her academic background further supports her role. Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance, an MBA in Finance, and a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University. These credentials have equipped her to lead United Charitable with both strategic insight and effectiveness.
A core belief of Julia’s is that “each of us has a light in them” that can drive change and create impact. She is dedicated to helping others discover and harness their own light. This philosophy is central to her work at United Charitable, where we support our clients in finding their unique strengths and making a meaningful difference in their communities.
Julia’s commitment to advancing women’s leadership is also a key aspect of her role. She actively mentors emerging female leaders and works to open pathways for women to take on influential roles in the nonprofit sector.
Outside of her professional life, Julia’s values are reflected in her family life. She and her husband, Michael, are parents to two daughters, Sophia and Madison. Their family’s commitment to service is evident in their involvement in community activities such as the annual Run the Greenway 5k and their support of the Best of the Batch Foundation’s Batch-of-Toys Initiative.
