Executive Transition Announcement

Jan RidgelyOn behalf of the Board of Directors and staff at United Charitable, it is with both a touch of sadness and immense gratitude we announce that Jan Ridgely is set to retire as CEO of United Charitable. She will depart at the end of August to pursue more time with family and dedicate her efforts to other passions. 

Jan has been a true asset to the organization. During her tenure, United Charitable built trusting relationships with community members and wealth advisors in the DC metro area and beyond. She championed the Advisors in Philanthropy (AIP) DC chapter, spearheading events and fostering a collaborative community of professionals. Through her efforts, United Charitable is a founding member of the AIP DC Chapter. Her leadership at United Charitable facilitated the establishment of hundreds of fiscally sponsored programs that work diligently to make the world a better place. She has formed crucial lasting partnerships with influential strategic partners across the board, enabling the creation of hundreds of Donor Advised Funds that, through charitable granting, incredibly change the lives of those in need. 

Jan has expressed her leaving United Charitable as full of emotions. “I am beyond excited to pass the torch on to Julia Healey, someone I have had the pleasure of closely working with for over a decade. I want to thank the UC staff for all their hard work and dedication throughout the years. I will miss them dearly.” Jan will continue to honor United Charitable and its mission to grow and support each charitable journey by providing simple customized vehicles that fulfill one’s philanthropic endeavors.

Julia HealeyMrs. Julia Healey will assume the position of CEO beginning September 1, 2019. Mrs. Healey holds a B.S. in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance and an MBA specializing in Finance. She has co-led the organization with Jan, as the Chief Financial Officer, for the past five years. Julia has built the operational and functional platforms that streamline UC’s operations.  Her backgroundextensive insider experience, and dedication to UC’s mission provide a seamless transition to her new role.
