AOG Impact

We empower our community to lead abundant lives by encouraging and supporting our clients to embrace creative ways to invest in others in their own communities. We are not only passionate about helping our clients, but we also care for our community by volunteering our time and expertise. By sharing how we have impacted others and living with gratitude, we hope to inspire others to think about their individual and collective opportunities to empower local and global organizations intentionally.

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is an excellent approach for our clients to strategically plan their giving to best impact the organizations that they are passionate about in a tax-efficient manner. There can be accountability and planning efforts dedicated to reaching the goal once it is identified.

For more than two decades, AOG Wealth Management has featured charitable giving as an integral part of our financial planning process.  We have encouraged those who have financially done well to also do socially.  Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”  The Gospel of Luke is more direct:  “From the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

We are delighted to help clients achieve financial independence for themselves and their families while also encouraging generous giving to those in need.  Our partnership with United Charitable has been a critical tool in maximizing both tax efficiency and convenience for our clients.  United Charitable provides rapid approval for qualified charities, professional monitoring and the ability to give anonymously when desired.

When we initially were searching for financial advisors, we had interviewed a number of candidates. As part of that process, we discussed our budget, our savings, and our goals for working with an advisor. When the topic of charitable giving and tithing came up, most reacted or responded in a way that indicated a mismatch in values. Based on our faith in God and His Word, we believe that what we have is a blessing and we are stewards of what He has given us. God calls us to do certain things with what He has given us and we want to honor and obey.

When we had a similar conversation with AOG, they encouraged our approach to giving and reinforced the idea that giving is a healthy, important part of financial planning and managing wealth. From the start of our relationship to AOG as clients, they developed a plan that helped us not only make the most of our finances, but put us in a position to give generously.

AOG held a client education event on Donor Advised Funds (DAF), a charitable giving-focused investment vehicle, that we had not previously known about. We weren’t in a financial position at the time to start a DAF, but we loved the strategy of it and knew we wanted to try to start one at some point.  Fast forward a number of years — through God’s blessing in our lives and the effective management and guidance of AOG — we were able to take a tax-advantaged approach to opening a DAF. We’re excited to be able to wisely and strategically grow our charitable giving over time and hopefully leave a legacy of giving. Not only is it a great feeling to be able to give to others, but also to work with a wealth management firm that holds the same values.
